We live in a world of uncertainties. People worry about their jobs, their pensions, their health, global warming, crime, and a host of other things. Christianity has all but faded out of our society and many would suggest that its message is no longer relevant. But early Christians went to their deaths to torture and exile with the words on their lips “WE KNOW”. What did they know and does it have meaning and hope for us today?

How should we treat teenagers who seem to challenge our ideas, beliefs and values? In the service this week we will look at how Jesus confronted the expectations of the leadership of his time. We will review how his story of two loving fathers will help us know how to react in tough situations. Karen (Mrs Holford) and Bernie will be preaching together, with the help of some young people too.

Today’s service is a family service, ‘Welcome to the Family’. We will be asking what is a family? Is the church a family? How do we react in difficulty? How can we care for each other, and help each other when we are down and continue to create and maintain a loving community? We find some of the answers in Ephesians 4:1-6.
Lots of songs and stories included in this service.

The service today will be led by Pastor Bob Rodd, retired former pastor of Crieff SDA Church, and former Scottish Mission President. Pastor Rodd is basing his thoughts today on Romans 8:1: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. This is one of the greatest texts in the New Testament, which expresses how the converted sinner can face God in the judgement with assurance.

Today has a special emphasis on the Bible.
A multilingual Bible with each book in a different language will be visiting the UK this week as part of a world tour that began in the Philippines. It is in the UK for just two days as part of a world tour that will make it become the most widely travelled Bible by the time the journey ends in the USA in July 2010. It has already visited over 80 countries.
The ‘Follow the Bible’ programme is a worldwide initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church aimed at getting church members reconnected with the Bible as well as reinforcing the value of the Bible and its message to society in general.

This is our new Pastor’s first service in Crieff church, and the title of his sermon is ~ ‘Which Vision? Whose Voice?’
Have you ever heard God speak to you? Would it be a sign of madness if you did? In the sermon ‘Which vision? Whose voice?’ we will be discovering how the prophet Samuel heard God’s voice. We will briefly examine some of the concerns that we have about listening to God and will try to take time to listen to the voice of God for us today.
