Our mornring worship service includes the baptism of Mark Bruce, and we are delighted that Mark has requested baptism and membership of this church.  Pastor Llew Edwards will be leading the baptism, and his sermon is titled “From Death to Life”.  The scripture text is taken from Romans 6:1-4

SUMMARY OF BELIEFS

1.    We believe in God the Father, in his Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit.

2.    We accept the death of Jesus Christ on Calvary as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of men, and we believe that through faith in his shed blood men are saved from sin and its penalty.

3.    Renouncing the world and its sinful ways, we have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and we believe that God, for Christ’s sake, has forgiven our sins and given us new hearts.

4.    We accept by faith the righteousness of Christ, recognising him as our Intercessor in the heavenly sanctuary, and we claim his promise to strengthen us by his indwelling Spirit so that we may receive power to do his will.

5.    We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word, and that it constitutes the only rule of faith and practice for the Christian.

6.    We accept the Ten Commandments as still binding upon Christians, and it is our purpose, by the power of the indwelling Christ, to keep this law, including the fourth commandment, which requires the observance of the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath of the Lord.

7.    We believe that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that we are to honour God by caring for our bodies, avoiding the use of that which is harmful, abstaining from all unclean foods, from the use of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in any of its forms, and from the abuse or misuse of narcotics and all other drugs.

8.    We accept the doctrine of spiritual gifts, and we believe that the Spirit of Prophecy is one of the identifying marks of the remnant Church.

9.    The soon coming of Jesus is the blessed hope in our hearts and it is our settled determination to prepare to meet him in peace, as well as to help others to get ready for his glorious appearing.

10.    We believe in Church organisation and it is our purpose to support the Church in our tithes and offerings, our personal effort, and influence.

11.    We accept the New Testament teaching of baptism by immersion, as a public expression of our faith in Christ and in the forgiveness of sins.

12.    Knowing and understanding the fundamental Bible principles as taught by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, it is our purpose, by the grace of God, to order our lives in harmony with these principles.

13.    We believe that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the remnant Church of Bible prophecy into which people of every nation, race, and language are invited and accepted.
