There are three steps to becoming a saint in this life and not having to wait until we are in God’s eternal kingdom.  The three steps are, Repentance, Confession and Obedience.

The worship service today will be themed around the flower festival ‘Nature’s Grand Designs’. There is a visiting speaker from the Scottish Bible Society, Alan Campbell, and his sermon title is ‘More Precious than Gold’.

Today is Women’s Emphasis Day. Heather-Dawn Small, General Conference Women’s Ministries director and her Associate Director Raquel Arrais have prepared this programme and the sermons for the 2008 emphasis day, and Shirley Froude, one of the church elders in Crieff will lead out in the service.

The title of the sermon is “Show Me the Saviour-Then I Shall See.” How often we go through life yearning for a glimpse of Jesus. Seeing our lives and the world as Jesus does, changes our lives and our perspective on life. That is what we pray this Sabbath service will do for our sisters. Our prayer is that each one of us will see our Saviour in our daily lives, and as a result He will colour all we see.

Pathfinders fundraising day

Meet at church on Sunday afternoon 22nd June (time to be confirmed) to take part in a fundraising activity to raise funds for the BUC Pathfinder Camporee. Please wear strong shoes/wellies, and work clothing – come prepared to get dirty and work hard! Compulsory activity for those attending the Camporee. Meet at Malcolm Logan’s house.

Llew Edwards continues his series in the Gospel of Mark. Today we consider Mk 6:6-13 and the instruction to His disciples to share the good news. His title is ‘The gospel command – Go!’

UPDATE: An MP3 and PowerPoint from the lecture now available…

You are invited to this fascinating and important lecture given by Professor John Walton.

Prof. Walton is now Honorary Research Professor at St. Andrews University having lectured there for 38 years in Reactive Chemistry and receiving numerous awards including the silver medal for Organic Reaction Mechanisms by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Prof. Walton will trace the rise of the ‘God is Dead’ movement from the beginning of the 20th century to the present time and to the time of Dr. Dawkins and ‘The God Delusion’.

Prof. Walton is a Christian and challenges this very secular age with the ‘problem’ of God.
